Event Description:
Dr. Joel B. Peckham, Jr., is a scholar of American Literature and a creative writer as well as a former Fulbright Scholar. His reviews, essays, and poetry have been published in numerous journals. Joel’s poetry books include Nightwalking, The Heat of What Comes, Why Not Take All of Me: A Cycle of Poems on the Life and Music of Billie Holiday and God’s Bicycle. His memoir (2015) is Resisting Elegy. Dr. Rachael Peckham’s essays appeared in Brevity, Crab Orchard Review, Grist, Indiana Review, New Ohio Review, and River Teeth: A Journal of Narrative Nonfiction. Her articles, essays, and poems have received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Robert Watson Poetry Award at Spring Garden Press, where her chapbook, Muck Fire, appeared in 2011. Her essays have twice received notable mention in the Best American Essay series, and she’s been a finalist in over a dozen book contests, including the National Poetry Series. Rachael is a Drinko Fellow. Both Joel and Rachael teach at Marshall University.
