Event Description:
Two Unique West Virginia Voices: Poet Beverly Bisbee’s family is deeply rooted in the West Virginia mountains. Having lived 30 years in Maine, she returned to West Virginia to capture relationships and moments that are important pieces of her family’s story. She has a degree from the University of Maine, and was a member of the first “Program of Writing” at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Educator and Memoirist Kathy Manley has been a lifelong resident of Logan County. She has an undergraduate degree from Marshall University, and her Master’s degree from West Virginia Graduate College. Kathy will read from her memoir “Daddy’s Leg” that draws from her life growing up in the Logan County coalfields.
